Jane Austen was born December 16, 1775 and passed away July 18, 1817. She was an English novelist who was known and made famous by her romantic writings. Jane wrote many novels, among them are: Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northhanger Abbey, and Persuasion. Jane began to write Emma in January of 1814 and finished it in March of 1815. It was published and printed later that year, but the book never made her much money, she had printed off 2,000 copies and four years later there were still 563 copies unsold.
